Captured
Alive, Colour
Field and Borrowed View are a series of works inspired by a visit
to Monet’s house and gardens, composed of various combinations
of dyed and stitched papers, handmade paper, natural fibres
and couched threads.
The maturity of the garden, with its abundant greenery and
riot of plants is captured alive in the stillness of the
lily pond. The reflective qualities of the water and the
underlying Japanese influence left an impression of tangible
colour and vivid views. I continue to be inspired by visits
to gardens and the effects of light on the landscape. |
